claim lottery tickets on your taxes
me and my boyfriend love scratch off lottery tickets and someone told him we could claim the losers on our taxes but i have never heard anything about that before and i was just wandering if that was true.Thank you for using justanswer. You may claim your losing lottery tickets up to the $ amount your winnings on Form 1040, Schedule A under the heading “Misc deductions” not subject to 2% floor (Meaning you may deduct $ for $ your gambling losses up to the $ amount of winnings reported on your Federal 1040)
